No but they were fun.
If the want make it fast and easy, if the battery could literally slide in and out, like the Chinese thingy it could be faster than filling up.
It would also require standardized battery systems for charging and cooling.
That would allow the facility to charge the batteries at the longest life rate or fastest rate depending on demand and batteries on hand.
Also batteries could be priced on the average miles they will give so people those who need the best, can still get premium.
FWIW There is a place that advertises they can change your oil in 5 min, including putting the oil and filter back in most of the time :-).
