I think, and this is just my opinion, but car companies--not just the so-called domestics, but every company that sells cars in the US--have zero interest in selling cheap cars.
People here will pretty much take food off the table in order to drive more car than they need, and as long as that holds, car makers are going to close the US market to cheap, cheerful EVs.
Cheap, cheerful ICE vehicles, too, for that matter.
The blissful counterstroke-a considerable new message.
