Lots of grapes have been blended with Cabernet Sauvignon over the years. Prior to Merlot being widely planted in California, it was quite common for some California vintners to blend some Zinfandel into their Cabernets. Louis Martini, for example, did it for a long time. So, too, did several others. It can be a quite lovely addition indeed.

Meanwhile, several Washington State wineries blend Lemberger with Cabernet Sauvignon (Kiona is but one example). And of course in Aus, the grape of choice is Shiraz.
