In particular stuff from China is often over-packaged. But as we see here, the Chinese are far from the only culprits.
I can't say I'm impressed by the expensive-looking power cords. It seems to me that this ADG unit ought to have internal EMI/RMI controls if it needs them and not have to rely on the power cord.
