Climbed this mountain to about where the highest point is near right center. This photo does not do justice to just how difficult that point was to reach. Some serious hiking / climbing.
Got up and spun my ankle in a very bad way. I was easily 1 to 1 1/2 miles from the road on the back side of a mountain. Had I been stuck there I'd have been in a world of shit.
I slowly got myself out of there and back to the truck. It took some time and some serious effort but dying on the side of a mountain in the desert wasn't on the agenda today.
Hope you like the picture. It hurt.
Follow Ups:
Horrible lighting, absolutely horrible. You couldn't have picked a worse time of day for this image. Blah. Try again around sunset, use a tripod, take a course in photoshop processing, and lose some weight so a simple hike up a shallow foothill doesn't cause you to collapse on yourself.
I have a cousin that lives in Arizona. He likes his motorcycles. He and a friend went way out into the desert just for the sport of chasing each other in and out amoung the rocks and Joshwa Trees miles from any roads. While trying to spin around one of these trees he stuck his foot out to brace himself and did a pretty serious fracture on it. His friend had a very difficult time getting him out and to a hospital.
Then there's the joke about "What if you got bit by a poisonous snake- somewhere private"- how good would your buddy be? he he
"Doctor says you're gonna die" after the doctor tells him to suck out the poison.
> > Don't take the critiques personally, and don't make excuses for poor composition- even if there are elements which were OUT OF YOUR CONTROL- it might make an interesting story, but in the end the viewer of the image doesn't care about the limitations you had at the time.... < <
