Nice setup! Yes, many events since July. About 15 track days in total since the, wish it were more but i was in Europe for three weeks to cover the Miolan show and my marriage/honeymoon.Like you, have insured the suspension is up to snuff. Have been focussing on safety and losing weight to improve power-to-weight ratio as the car here has an engine pretty maxed out without getting into some serious $$$$ investment.
Have enjoyed Lime Rock Park and also New Hampshire International Speedway (NHIS) quite a bit. Was invited to a few other tracks including Watkins Glenn and that one in Canada, but have been too busy. Have a competition license and last weekend i had to have an instructor approve me soloing at COMSPORT events as they did not know me. i enjoy having an instructor for the first few laps (or session) on any unfamiliar track as they can help show me the lines.
2006 should be a very busy year as i hope to join the Porsche Club events, BMW club events, the odd Ferrari Club Of America events, etc (plus the various open track days). Am still waiting for us to start laying the tarmac at Club Motorsport in Tamworth, a track i have interests in (http://www.clubmotorsports.com). We finally got the last necessary government approvals and the land/trees for the track have already been cleared...
Agree it is fun, but also very skilled and finding that last 10 feet more before braking, getting on the gas earlier, tweaking the car's setup, etc... You know the drill :)
Have some videos online as recently purchased an in-car setup for audio/video capture (but no data acquisition system, yet :( ). The NHIS videos are the new system but working out the audio bugs. Lime Rock videos my wife shot using the movie part of my digital camera. Hope you enjoy them. Keep the shiny side up and remember:
Never put a car on a race track that you would not be willing to push off a cliff.
