I would really take a serious look at the new Cannon PowerShoot G3.
The street price is $799.00 but the internet discounters sell it for much less, most likely around $699.00. This is an improved model of their very popular PowerShoot G2.
As I stated previously, my son-in-law who is a professional photogragher just bought one and likes it very much, -and I am envious.
The Minolta DiMAGE f100 seems like a good digital as well with a street price of $700.00, but I think the Cannon is a much better deal.
