They had three samples of their '10 cab from different parts of the property. Each block was treated exactly the same as far as growing, picking and vintnering. As close as they could for comparison.
It was really interesting how much each block differed. I actually liked one 100% cab block, Dragons Terrace, better than the two finished blends they offered.

...we met one of the winemakers and he took us to barrel taste their Syrah.Two different vinyard Syrahs, then a blend of the two.
Fascinating.
Same thing at Vidon Vinyard in the Willamette Valley a year ago fall.
He has three different vinyard pinot noirs, then a blend of two of them.
