We went to a restaurant in Pacific Grove, Taste, tonight. I ordered a glass of Dow's Fine Tawny Port for dessert, $10. A glass the size of two thimbles, with maybe an ounce pour. Poured by what looked to be the mother of the family that ran the place. I signaled to the daughter that was the bartender and asked if this was really the correct pour. She said yes. Then the mother came out and asked why I was complaining, said I didn't know what that bottle cost her and a shot pour was correct. After a discussion/argument she said the glass was on her and refused to look at me the rest of the night as she passed and as she dropped off the check.
That is a $20 bottle retail at worst. She is getting it for probably $14 at worst. With her pours she's getting 25 glasses.
