There's some not bad wine out there!
Went up the hill to Esterlina and enjoyed their dry reisling - at only 12 bucks a bottle! Their Cole Ranch pinot was good, too.
Down in the valley - Goldeneye, Black Kite, and Baxter served up a nice cache of pinot noirs. They were tasting library wines and snacks for the festival - nicely done.
I would say it's worthwhile to sip any of their wares!
The deal of the day was Roederer, who sells large format sparklers at the winery at amazing prices - they had a 3 liter (jerobaum) of their Brut Rose for 92 bucks. That will be the Thanksgiving starter for all the in laws later in the year.
Even their Hermitage magnums were less than double the Costco price of a single bottle!
Very friendly service, as well, many pours available and good staff.
Philo and Booneville get a thumbs up.
