...so I'm searching for some Columbia Crest H3 (post below) and a friend tells me he's found it on-line and it's at the local BevMo.He also says he picked up a bottle and prefers the Costco chardonnay.
So I pick up a bottle of each to see if we've found the new Rombauer.
2008 H3 @ $14 isn't bad - it's big and pleasant enough in the mouth, but there's a little bitterness in the finish.
2009 Kirland Napa Chard @ $10 is more viscous/buttery and sweeter but not very complex. I like it a little better, too, maybe for any everyday white (according to my wife).
Actually, neither did much for me.
Rombauer need not worry.
