Time to revisit this thread as several weeks have transpired since last we convened. Have been fortunate enough to savor the Grand Cuvee on three occasions since last post; once last nite with an audiobud during a several hours long listening session ( he sprang for it ), last Sunday during the Indy/PittsBrad game, and for New Years' eve where a magnum was bottoms upped by just two of us. All I can say is that life is good. What a superior bubbly, very dark in color, ennobled by a slew of reserve base wines going back no telling how many years, with an intriguing complexity; a chewy mouthful that has a little something for all four of the essential tastebuds in the mouth but offends none and finishes in a controlled non-tart way borne of the age of its building block base wines and a well crafted assemblage. C'mon Superbowl. That's when we peel the foil back on the '89 vintage magnum of Krug!
