I don't really recall the dispute, but I do remember there was a lot of bargaining before he finally accepted the position of Wine Asylum East Coast Correspondent.

I think the opportunity to have a platform to vent his iconoclastic notions about pinot noir was irresistible to him, though. It seems a natural step in his burgeoning career as a wacky internet wine character.

Is 'Mark Sguires board' a board with a monastic slant, by any chance?
