The temperature at which you serve red wine varies a lot depending on personal taste--my wife and I always put a bottle of red that has been at room temperature into the freezer for about ten minutes before we drink it because we both like our reds in the sixties, not the seventies or eighties that is real 'room temperature' in the east.

But plenty of our friends like their reds dead warm and look at us strangely when we ask to freeze it a little first.

I especially find that bigger wines tend to show more alcoholic when they are very warm.
