I have thrown more wine out this past two weeks than in my entire life. Still it is only about 4 bottles which is a lot for me. I drink at the rate of about 3 a week I think. Joe's reason is interesting.. I of course do not know... if I dont like it, then I throw it. If I like it, i drink it. I blame it on storage by retailer (I drink within a month of buying it and my house is usually pretty cool) but I have not invested in a cellar yet. Or just a bad choice of wine i guess. Since I dont have the experience of tasting hundreds of wines, I have not given much thought to the actual reasons.I will say that I think a red Zin that I threw would probably have been better if I allowed it to breathe. Or maybe I was trying too many Cabs and a sudden Zin taste was not well appreciated by me. Then I went on to my second most expensive Zin, a Ravenswood Sonoma and it was good though it started off with a very similar taste as the first one that I threw out. Hmmm. I think I messed up with one but the other three that I threw were yuck.
Cheers.
