Denis Mugneret's wines were as woody as any. Not to be outdone.I found several red wines to like. I thought the most appealing reds were the Vissoux '99 Fleurie (the biggest and wholly coincidentally perhaps the best wine Chermette has made), the Pavelot '98 Savigny basic, the '96 Parent Pommard Rugiens, and the '98 Legros Vougeot Cras, and the Pernot '98 Santenay Bieveau wasn't bad either.
The whites definitely had a better day, however.
