i am beginning to get curious what it is you would like to see put in place as policy.
we had a running argument going....
and it occurred to me that while i had advocated; you had not. So...
Mart, i choose you for Pres. of these United States. What *is* your policy on smoking and drugs? What would you do differently?
envoke countrywide scared straight T.V. commercials. Forget pots & pans, people want "real" T.V.? Interview real case histories & their friends in denial. Something that slaps them upside the head with actors they can relate to, excuses they've heard & used. The teenage surviving widow who lovingly prostitutes herself for additional their stash. The buddies who narrate the stark reinactment of the tragedy. The formly successful homeless bum who's been in & out of dry out centers all his life as he tells about his social use.
Let a collective human cry echo from the populus. FAR more damage is being done by castigating it as a dirty little secret. Social acceptance is utterly unacceptible. The woman who drives around in a Mercedes that her man bought her with drug money, but feels it's O.K. because she doesn't allow him to sell it at the house. The guy who winks & covers for his friend who's blowing his nose too often. The neighbors & police who are afraid of the criminals down the street that deals openly. Even the drug related humor has become so common-place children are quoting it.
How funny would a man without a single decent vein be? Maybe Jay Leno can make a joke out that? Or, David Letterman can tell the one about the genius incapable of cognitive speech?
Then, the people will demand change. At that point, the rest is cake. People will finally feel ashamed & want to stop. Nothingless hasn't worked before. Also, police will be enpwered to remove youth-robbing contraband. Let's raise rock bottom shall we? That way there's stil a positive contributing life after drugs!
