For a Lower contrast film try- Kodak 35mm Color Print Film Portra NC ISO 160 36 Exposures.
Ask your son, it's a wedding photog portrait film. Which has to be far less contrasty than what you now shoot.
Your 8080 might have to be corrected only in PS
