I have been looking around for a digital camera for a few days now. I seem to be very attracted to the Canon G6 and the Olympus C-7070. Both of them have good reviews. Since this is my first experience with digital cameras i was wondering if any of you had any experience with either one.

I'm planning on using the camera for family gatherings, some outdoor photography, daughter's school recitals and to post items for sale on the net among other things. Do the wide angle on the Olympus tip the balance here or is Canon a superior performer ? You can email me directly if you feel you don't want to post your opinions here. Your advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
