V-day

"the relatively neophyte champagne drinker who has had the occasional flute of Mumm's or Moet, the first flavor burst of this in the gullet may very well create doubt as to whether that's actually real bubbly because it will be so unlike what you'd expect based on previous experience"

You mean like my Elizabeth, who swigged Calvados straight from the bottle?!?!? I had planned to drink that other bottle of Krug with her, most likely on V-day after we have our anticipated lobster dinner. I have been turning her on to the likes of Piper, Duval, Cliquot, L.P., Tats, and Lil' Nicky but know she thinks they are all just as well. I will say she has noticed the difference a proper glass makes. Too bad she busted a Riedel (sp?) Vintage Champagne glass the other week while cleaning it :( Now I'm down to two...

We'll see you at S&J's this Sunday. I know what you'll be ordering! I had it last week when Elizabeth and I went there. Of course, that Calamari is still to die for :)
