Another book remembered - Archy and Mehitabel

Posted by Timbo in Oz on July 9, 2004 at 08:17:21:

Almost a sign post of its time.

very very funny, in a slowly and acidly droll way.

I had a act I called Mehitabel, twice, once when one of the youngest queens drove our Dad to exaspiration one night too may with her calling, and named her thus.

We had or rather Dad had exerted considerable efforts to reducing the interested / alive tom population in our part of Australia, but she would keep calling, all night and the next etc, etc.

The other one was my first cat since home, little black shiny slinky-puss burmese cross she was, mostly just cross for a good few months. A little orphan from the pound. Bachelors do not need a cat, especially a cute female kitten.
