Taken from the North Cascades Highway. Diablo Dam on the Skagit River. Diablo is one of three dams on the Skagit that generate electricity for the Seattle area.

If not for the lights on and around the dam, lighting would have been pitch dark. The camera picked up more light in this photo than my own eyers were able to see while I was getting this shot. For instance, the structures below and to the front of the dam were not at all visible to me, yet they have definition in the photo.

I often wonder why the word "Diablo" was chosen. Spanish word for "The Devil".
