Samsung is usually a good bet for photography. They tend to score well in color accuracy, and, last time I checked, maintained a "no dead pixel" policy, where most other manufactures have varying number of dead pixels (>0) that are considered acceptable.
A color calibrator and any decent monitor can also work quite well though.
Acer is a truly enormous brand, and are the manufacturer of products for many other brands as well, but I don't have any experience with their LCDs.
