My Johnson 6.5 over heated and burned the head's gasket. I replaced the gasket and installed a new impeller, I took of the side plate and clean out the cooling lines as best I could. I took out the thermosate and cleaned it too. I changed the spark plugs for new ones. When it starts it takes a while for the impeller to expell water, but there is a steady flow afterwards, not strong, but steady. But the motor keeps on overheating anyway. What could be causing my motor to over heat?
