Re: prop depth to prevent cavitation??????

A lot depends on the bottom design of the boat, but an aluminum boat, I would recommend starting with the center of the prop shaft at least 5 inches below the bottom of the boat. Trim makes a diiference too as does prop design and condition.

I'm not too sure I'd want to cut the transom down too much, but the prop shaft does need to be at least 5 inches down.
