Would appreciate some ideas. We operate a small boat marina and need a new work skiff. Our present boat is 10 ft long and 55 inches wide. Depth averages 17 inches. Flat bottomed. Heavily fiberglassed inside and out. We use a 15 hp outboard for power. There's a 16 inch Micheline auto tire mounted on the stem. This little rig has worked wonderfully for us for many years as a mini-tug. The short length lets us work in between the finger piers and the flat bottom lets us turn "on a dime." The problem is the boat is getting old and the weight of a new four stroke motor doesn't help the freeboard. We're searching for a replacement to build, but would like to find some plans. In addition to the short length and plumb stem, we think having the motor in a well might make it more convenient for the operator and less chance of fouling tow lines. Maybe someone on this forum knows of a suitable design or has seen a boat we could copy.
Thanks ever so much,Marston's Marina
