I have a late 50's early 60's Evinrude Lark Engine. I just got the boat and it looks like someone has added a 6" extension to the lower unit to make it a long shaft. The extension piece is clearly much much newer. I'm taking this boat to a much shallower lake and was wondering if that piece can be taken out and what I am going to encounter when I do so. Is it just a shaft in there with a male/female coupler piece? Any help would be appreciated.
