I have a 14 foot Lowe 1448 Jon. I used to get great performance at 25 mph with 3 people and could plane with 4. I have added a bit of weight with a bow trolling motor and an anchor but not much else but didn't loose much until rewiring the boat for light. During this rewiring I moved the battery from the middle to the rear to clear up floor space. After doing this I have lost plane with over 2 people and now top at only 18 mph! Did my redistribution of weight lead to this, or is it more likely a motor problem? I am thinking of moving the battery to the front but want to know if the rewiring I will have to do give me my performance back?
I am running a 20 horse Chrysler with a 6 gal tank. Thanks
