I have a 1984 70 hp Evinrude that, under load, idles great at all RPMs and in gear until around 2000 RPMs. It runs in gear at higher RPMs (5000) great for first 5-10 minutes and then it bogs down. Compression on all three cylinders is 120, fuel tank is clean, new hoses and fittings from tank to carbs, rebuilt carbs, new fuel pump, new spark plugs, new rings on the pistons (one piston wall was scarred up – the compression was 120 after the new rings). Second trial… same result. The carbs were taken apart and cleaned again. Second trial… same result. Any suggestions?
