Could somone please share their opinion about the following idea? I just purchased a 12 foot inflatable boat and plan to propell it with an electic trolling motor. I know it will work for a few hours at least, since a buddy and i tried the same with a 12 foot rigid hull boat and had about 3 - 4 hours of driving time. However i would like to rig up a solar panel to charge the battery while in use. Now i doubt it would keep the battery fully charged, however i am sure it would help extend the battery use on the lake so i would not have to go back to shore to charge up so soon. The question is will this work as easy as i think it should? If so why is no one else doing it?
