Interesting you led off with the Dion Swampscott dory. I built one of glued-lap plywood, rigged for sail per Gardner's plan, with laminated spruce oars, and a motor well for a 5 hp 4-stroke. Launched in May.

I can attest to this boat's kindly properties. We've gone sailing a number of times, including in high winds on the Columbia, and had a blast. Also, under power, we've caught salmon in the estuary below Astoria, and lots of shad and bass in the Willamette here close to home.

I'll try to provide a link to some pictures...from launching day last spring.
