Should I fix my Minolta Autofocus?

12.167.76.226

I've got a Minolta 400si autofocus SLR body that shot craps on my trip to the Grand Canyon. A camera tech in Flagstaff explained that it was a failure in the mechanism that changes the aperature and is a common problem for Minolta owners.
The body wasn't one of the top models but it had enough features to keep me puzzled and amused.
Is this an expensive repair? I've already gotten two estimates of $120 and $150.Since the NYC stores are selling Minolta autofocus bodies with similar bells and whistles for around $179, I'd rather buy new if the price difference between repair and new is less than $60.
Has anyone had a similar problem?
