Digital camera for around $200

Shutterbug Strasse

A photographer's haven for the lastest in digital or traditional film cameras.

I am looking at a bewildering array of digital cameras.
My criteria is:
AA batteries
3X optical zoom
non-proprietary memory card
The Cannon A60 (or A70) look good, but there are about a dozen other entries in the same price range.
Any words of advice for a newbie?
