I asked in my original post if i was simply trying to do something that couldn't be done given the light situation. I was hoping that the software built in to digital cameras might proveide some kind of workaround that i wasn't aware of or that there might be another solution. Joes suggestion of a graduated neutral density filter seems a sensible solution and one which enables me to use the camera in difficult situations.Regards
