Our local dealer just got it in and is asking $1850.00 for it. My first impressions, -Bulky. It's bulkier then the Cannon G5. Infact it seems much more bulky then the Leica M's and it doesn't have the nice tight solid feel of the M's. However, looking at it from the front you would never know it was a digital camera, but the very large viewing screen in back gives it away. Admittedly, most of it's bulk comes from the lens barral. It's made by Panasonic and I asked the dealer if Panasonic has a simular brand with the same lens but with their logo. He said they do but he didn't know it's price since they were not a Panasonic dealer. Hmmmmm...I wonder by how much the Leica red dot increases the price????

Here's the best performing digital cameras at the 2004 PMA Show in Los Vegas (simular to the CES show): A panel of expert judges voted on the entries, based on the overall quality of the digital print. Eight digital still cameras were named, starting with the cheapest: Below $100 went to Mustek MDC4000. $100 -$199 was the HP Photosmart 735. $200 -$299 to Konica Minolta DiMage X20. $300 -$399 to Casia QV-R51. $400 -$499 to HP Photosmart 945. $599 -$799 to Olympus C-5060. $999 -$1299 to Olympus C-8080. AND $1300 -$1799 The New Leica Digilux 2, Hmmm, seems like the local dealer was doing a price. hike.
So, if your in the market for a new digital camera, these are supposedly the best. Very strange, -no Nikon's, Cannon, FujiFilm, Contax, or Sony, -Hmmmmmm....
