However, I think I can mention to you, you'd rather have a closer tight view of the big Red Guy , by using a 600mm lens.
If indeed the tail is already clipped, then making a tighter cropping in , say from off the right edge.Up to the wood knot.Then under the tail even more, and crop the left up to the lighter branches .Say in line with the first 0 in 2003.Finally a little off the top.
I do wish we could get a discussion group going on in here, about helping all of us toward better shooting......
