anyone else think Nikon software is junk?

Well I love the D1x, but Nikon View is a buggy piece of garbage and Capture not much better IMO. Capture takes forever to process RAW format images even on a 667mhz G4 Powerbook. (200MB RAM allotted!!)
What gives?? Or am I just wrong?
