Can anyone explain Contax T3 manual focus?

Read in the specs that there is a manual focus feature. What I need to know is whether this manual focus is just flicking a switch to match certian focal lengths i.e. 3m, 10m, 50m, etc or if you can actually see through the viewfinder if the subject is in focus. This is important to me because I will often have to shoo through glass which ruins the autofocus capability but if I have a parallax or other means of focusing on a subject then this camera might be what I need.

TIA

Charles
