Can anyone take a close up with such a zoom by hand w/o blurring?

I tried to take some close ups of this rug without a Tripod and i can't do it.Its a Konica Minolta Damiage Z6 12X optical Zoom 6 mega pixels.Incredibly frustrating and i wondered if its just me drinking too much coffee..
