Color Streaking In Color Printers:

My son-in-law just purchased an Epson 2200 color printer. They are supposed to be one of the best printers and I was thinking of getting one myself to print my artwork since they have archival inks and paper. So, we tried to print one of my scanned paintings last night as I wanted to see how good it was. There were streaks across the service of the prints and my son-in-law explained that apparently one of the color nozzels was clogged. Is this a common occurance? When this happens, do you have to replace the ink cartridge or is there a way of quickly un-clogging the nozzel? If this is a common problem I just may have second thoughts on getting one of these printers. (I notice this happens a lot on my little HP Photosmart printer and I end up getting my digital photos professionally printed.)
