I have a 17.5' Special addition Fisherman and was wondering if any readers out there could give me some advice. I run a 115 HP Merc and it doesn't seem to come up to 5000 RPM nor can I get the bow out of the water far enough . Is my motor underpowered or am I running too big of a prop. I believe mine is 21 degree pitch. I seem to be always plowing through the water and not able to get the bow up where the water breaks behind the driver. Please offer any advice.

I would have to ask these questions.does it jump to its max rmp or slowely climb to its max?. if it climbs slowly, it could be a to much angle on the prop thing Does the engiene sound like its laboring? if it is, that is a good sign of too much prop.
is your boat slow? or are you just wanting it to plane? that motor should move that boat.
