Get a piece of thin rope, and screw one end of it to the tripod screw in the base of your camera. Let the other end drop to the floor, and put your foot on it, thus keeping the rope tight. Now, focus and shoot: unless you are extremely shaky, it will work fine for speeds as low as 1/4th of a second!Regards

would work even better on a camera with the viewfinder on top i suppose since you could hold the camera without using your hands ia the strap.
