See link below. It seems that the photographer has been using 'firelight' to add drama and mood to his fantastic imagery. Not that I'd see anything wrong in using 'available light' to set up the scene but it did get him in trouble with the park rangers on more than one occasion.... 8-]

I have one of Muench's books, Ancient America, and apparently, both photographers have covered some of the same amazing territory.
Muench also has an online print gallery, though unfortunately the images are "watermarked" smack-dab in the middle of the frame!

Some superb photos there Joe but i must say i abhore with a passion where folks put bloody frames around photos on the web. Sure, if we print and hang them at home we choose a frame but frames on the web just piss me off. I see no reason for them.
