Hi all,I was just given a Mamiya C33 medium format camera today, and I'm trying to find out as much information as possible. As you can see from the picture below, it's been in storage for many moons and will need a thorough cleaning:
If anyone has advice on using this (I'm quite new to this vintage and format of camera) I would be most appreciative. I don't have a manual, and I don't want to break anything by pushing on anything too hard *grin*.
Many thanks,

This camera can take great pictures. I've used it ... oh... 30 years ago. It's a medium format camera so getting film may be an issue unless you have a professional photography shop nearby.
I would recommend getting it cleaned and serviced. If you don't use it, then there may likely be a collector out there who might want it.
Also, these cameras are pretty mechanically robust and sound (and heavy). I've seen people drop them (and if the lens isn't broken) and pick them up and just keep using them.
I found out that, not only does Mamiya have a web site, but they actually have the manual for the C330 in PDF format. It's close enough to the C33 to be informative.I do believe that the lenses on this are pretty much shot, unless there's a way to take them apart for cleaning. I imagine a good camera shop would be able to do so; there's only *one* good shop left here in Bermuda and it's just about to close, so I'd better get there fast.
