After a long search I settled on the Konica Minolta Z3 Dimage and I am not happy. Flash shots indoors are very dark and I have focus problems in some ranges but not in others. I will post some samples if requested. Need to know if you think I have a defective sample.TYIA

and most of them seemed quite pleased. Mine is now back (or will be tomorrow) at Konica Minolta. Lady agreed that I probably have a defect

not sure why your indoor flash shots are too dark, unless - you're too far away (out of flash range) or have the film iso set too low or something like that. there's also the ability of that camera to adjust the flash intensity, apparently. make sure the flash is set to 'normal' or mid value, the iso is at least 100; 200 would be better, tho more noisy. aperture should be pretty open - f8 or more. if you shoot with those settings at a subject within maybe 15 ft, it should expose ok, no? if not, maybe there's some other setting that's off. full auto should work, within the flash's range of distance, however, i'd think. should be a pretty nice little camera, altho kinda lite on megapix, by 2005 standards.
suggestions - I had read up on it quite a bit and expected better. If you would, have a look over at Central where I also posed a question because it was so quiet around here - coupla pic samples there
