Malbecs are excellent value for the money.Some to look for:
Don David 2008 Reserve (my favourite)
Alamos
Viu Manet Reserve
Altos Las Hormigas
All average around $15

I recently had a Punto Final Classico Malbec which was pretty good. I don't recall if it was the 2006 or 2007. The Altocedro was to my taste just a bit better, hence my post about it.
