I currently own a 1990 ranger W/4 cyl. standard 4x4 trans 'gutless' and problematic, I am in the process of shoe horning a 1985 Mercrusier 470 inline 4 cyl. turbo charged into this truck that should produce around 325hp. once complete.

Has anyone out there ever taken part in this type of repower and what problems am I in for! The 470 is nothing more than an aluminum block 4cyl. with ford 460 pistons, rods and cyl. head but makes 190hp. out of the box. They were very popular with sprint car racers for power, torch and light weight.
