How much does the actual car acoustic space make a difference in how good/clean a system sounds?
I plan on getting a Nissan Altima Coupe, which had a rather crappy , woolly/boomy/muddy bass and midrange. Regardless of weather one listens to the 6 speaker or upgraded "Bose" 9 speaker system. If I spend some $ to change out the drivers and/or the head unit, how much of a guarantee do I have that it will sound at least as good as my sister-in-law's Lexus SC430 Mark Levenson system, which has a rich clear midrange and tight tuneful bass. I know that in home music systems, the room is 50% of the system. Is there any similarity here?
