Three fascinating essays. Of special note is the essay on the
Mississippi River and the structure near Baton Rouge that keeps the
River from taking a new course into the Atchafalaya Baisin and
forming a new mouth at Morgan City, LA. Rivers are patient though,
and some day, when both The Missouri and The Ohio are in full flood,
the lower Mississippi will go where it pleases, namely the Atchafa-
laya Baisin. Regards,J.R.
